About the Program

Southeast Michigan Stewardship Coalition (SEMIS) is dedicated to building partnerships between schools and community partners to develop stewardship in the Great Lakes region. During the past year, the SEMIS Coalition has worked with a total of eight schools. In this timeframe, approximately 1000 students from 6 schools were engaged in hands-on community-based learning projects that address real social and ecological problems in their communities.
