About the Program

The EMU GEAR UP project is funded by the U.S. Department of Education to help over 800 students in Wayne-Westland, Willow Run, and Ypsilanti to attain their goal of a college education. The program's services include tutoring, mentoring, and college trips. GEAR UP also provides help for families to learn more about college and how to afford it. 50% of our program is funded by the United States Department of Education, 50% by EMU, school district and community partners.
